Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
Cup sugar 1 / 2
2 c. teaspoon baking powder
Teaspoon salt 1 / 2
1 egg
Cup milk 1 / 2
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 1 / 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Filling:
1 / 2 cup all-purpose flour
Cup sugar 1 / 2
1 / 4 cup cold butter
1 / 4 cup chopped pecans
Preparation:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat egg, milk and butter. Stir in dry ingredients just until moistened. Pour batter into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Garnish with strawberries.For the topping, combine flour and sugar in a bowl, cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in pecans, if desired, sprinkle on strawberries. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve hot.
